- Abstract
The Montané Anthropological Museum of the University of Havana was founded on the 29 of June 1903. Here we discuss the most recent investigations carried out by the institution. Among the studies, several have been completed on projection glass-slides, plus DNA and historic documentation of a Guanche mummy, currently on exhibit and originally considered a Peruvian miner. The size variation and cranial morphology of Amerindian populations have been subjected to geometric morphometric analyses. Moreover, studies have been done on the development of rural communities such as La Picadora, including the socialization/ divulgation and accessibility of the results. The museum's research has all been conducted by multidisciplinary teams with a biocultural focus.
