The present study is to investigate whether maternal mood, particularly depression and anxiety, in pregnant women is associated with placenta malperfusion by assessing the fetal Doppler and placenta pathology. Doppler ultrasound examination of umbilical artery (UA), middle cerebral artery (MCA), and uterine artery (UtA) was performed at 35-40 gestational weeks. Conclusions Our results suggest that maternal anxiety and depression influence fetal hemodynamics of placenta malperfusion.
