- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 5-year-old male patient with multiple asymptomatic erythematous desquamative plaques in bilateral parieto-occipital regions associated with hair loss. It discussed the reflectance confocal microscopy of tinea capitis and comparing images with results of dermoscopy and mycological exams; and highlights the direct mycological examination (DME) of hair and skin scrapings samples that revealed ectothrix fungal parasitism.
