- Abstract
The article discuss various discourse and social semiotic aspects and implications of the communication used in the dyadic encounter between a fortune-teller like cartomantist or taromantist and his client. It reportsthe monologue like nature of the discourse, selected persuasive elements used by the cartomantist, plot building, the role of context, the exhaustive, polysemous, sometimes polaric index of meanings in regular and tarot cards.
