- Abstract
The article presents a study on the lake management of the shallow Lake Christina in Minnesota and the alternative stable state theory. It states that three top-down manipulations or fish kills were undertaken that cause the temporary, unstable clear-water states during the managed period of the lake. Results conclude that top-down manipulations have not been effective in providing a return to an ecosystem that is stable.
