- Abstract
Entrepreneurship has expanded in the latter, fostering economic progress, generating new jobs and wealth for countries. However, several factors may favor or hinder entrepreneurial practice. This study aims to identify the factors that facilitate and impede entrepreneurship in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. The methodology used was a quantitative and descriptive research, through exploratory factorial analysis and multiple linear regression, applied to 224 respondents. The results highlight, among the facilitating factors, the knowledge about the way to manufacture a product / work a service and conditions to hire a qualified workforce, and among the factors that make it difficult, the fear of failure or the risk of owning business, the amount of bureaucratic demands, and access to entrepreneurial orientation programs to create or maintain a business. Research expanding knowledge about these factors and how they can collaborate or inhibit entrepreneurship.
