- Abstract
Fixing the territory, a turning point: The paradoxes of the Wichí maps of the Argentine Chaco In the course of the dispute between the Wichí and the national State, which the IACHR is called upon to judge, the map serves the Indigenous peoples in order to make their territoriality intelligible to the authorities, to anchor a foundation to their claim, and thus to make visible what was previously invisible. While it is true that the map is the language used in the dialogue between Indigenous peoples and the State, it is also true that the map is not an Indigenous language. Narrative cartography: From mapping stories to the narrative of maps and mapping.
