- Abstract
The article reports on the several personal observations and suggestions concerning training in congenital cardiac surgery. It states that the majority of congenital cardiac surgery programmes in the U.S. refuse to participate in the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) which was introduced by American Board of Thoracic Surgery as an accredited pathway to board certification specifically in congenital cardiac surgery.
