- Abstract
The article addresses the evolving role of Parliamentarians and of Parliaments to step up as key enablers of human rights. Topics discussed include reason for the early departure of Ambassador Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein from the key position of United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights, role of Parliaments across the Commonwealth in the implementation of the 2015 UN Sustainable Development Goals, and three core pillars of the UN.
