- Abstract
The article presents news briefs related to the British Parliament. Legislation limiting the expenses of British Parliament members (MPs) and intended to promote public trust was introduced in the British House of Commons by Jack Straw, British secretary of state for justice. MP John Bercow was elected as speaker for the House of Commons. The judicial duties and powers of the British House of Lords have been transferred to the British Supreme Court.
