- Abstract
The article profiles educationalist and urban historian David A. Reeder and details few works on his meticulously researched study of the emergence of London's suburbs in England. Reeder made a huge contribution by defining the two distinctive academic field of urban history and history of education. In 1952, Reeder embarked upon a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education course in the University of Leicester thereby starting a 50-year-old association with the University. In the nineteenth-century he published a variety of general historical syntheses that gave him a good recognition.
