- Abstract
The article discusses the efforts of various institutions in combating blister rust, a fungus that infects white pine forests, in the Pacific Northwest regions of the U.S. during the 20th century. It discusses the efforts of assistant regional forester Elers Koch of the U.S. Forest Service, the concept of mobile nature as a pest that did not respect international or state borders, and the cooperative agreements to eradicate blister rust among private and government institutions.
