The article focuses on the recovery of the incoherence in the poetry of Sarah Piatt. It focuses on the recovery efforts of Paula Bernat Bennett which influences Americanists to reinvestigate the works of Piatt. It states that Bennett's recovery of Piatts work is essential, contributing hopes to other recovers, like Cheryl Walker, to express about recovery work which includes providing a much larger selection of poets and poems. It mentions that Bennett is aiming to position Piatt after Emily Dickson, the nineteenth century American woman poet most appealing to the readers today due to her poetic activism.
