- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a female scarlet macaw which died of bacterial infection. Her histopathologic examination revealed hyperplasia of the outer skin while bacteriologic examination showed growth of several bacteria such as Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli. Also were observed consistency of avian pox in macaw's skin while mentioning several avian pox preventive measures such as controlling arthropod vectors and using mosquito protective cages.
