The article discusses various aspects of the jury verdicts and medical malpractice claims that are impacting physicians in the state of Illinois as of 2006, and it mentions an increase in professional medical liability insurance premiums for physicians, as well as information about physicians' decision to leave Illinois. Caps on damage awards for pain and suffering are examined, along with payments to plaintiffs and litigation in Madison County and St. Clair County, Illinois.
