- Abstract
The article presents an overview of the scholastic history of technology in French intellectual life in the 20th-century, highlighting the contributions of the country to the establishment and development of the International Committee for the History of Technology (ICOHTEC) since the late 1960s. The author reviews several early historical figures and societies of France concerned with the history of technology throughout the Modern Era. Key activities of the ICOHTEC related to France are mentioned, such as its founding member Maurice Daumas, its first establishment in Paris, and its hosting of several symposia conferences.
