The article offers information about the lecture of Jonathan D. Varat, professor of the UCLA School of Laws in California regarding the deception and the first amendment as a central, complex, and somewhat curious relationship. It discusses the limitations of the first amendment on government power from the absolute protection for statements of opinion to the partial protection of deceptions. It also features the limitations of the first amendment on the deceptions perpetrated by the government.
