Title
Cardioversion in Obese Patients.
Abstract
The article focuses on the evolving understanding of ischemic stroke risk in female atrial fibrillation (AF) patients over a 12-year period in Finland. It highlights findings from the FinACAF study, which demonstrated a decreasing independent association between female sex and higher stroke risk among AF patients. It is reported that this shift challenges the traditional use of female sex as a standalone risk factor in current risk stratification models like the CHA2DS2VASc score.
