The article focuses on the archival future of 16mm film in regard to avant-garde production and exhibition. The author compares 16mm film to vinyl records in terms of obsolete technologies appreciated by a select few, discusses the use of digital video in experimental cinema, and argues that archiving papers and records on avant-garde films is also important.
