- Abstract
Spray degassing was used to remove hydrogen dissolved in aluminum melt. In order to investigate the effects of different purge gases on aluminum melt during spray degassing, different kinds of purge gases were used in experiments. The results show that, as a purge gas in the process of spray degassing, nitrogen leads in increasing the hydrogen content and inclusion content of the aluminum melt. The mechanical properties of the specimens are very poor.
