- Title
Fibrous Technologies for Reducing Greenhouse Gas.
- Authors
Matsuo, T.
- Abstract
The article discusses the different applications of fibrous technologies to reduce global emissions. The L'Aquila summit, which was held from July 8 to 10, 2009, G8 nations recognized the need to address the climate change problem. According to the author, fibrous technologies can be applied to develop ecofriendly energy resources and storage and in energy saving. Polymer composite with glass or carbon reinforcing fiber can be used to create the blades of wind turbines. Carbon nanotubes can be used to create super high performance capacitor. Meanwhile, fibrous materials such as glass wool, rock wool and fiber fill can be utilized for thermal insulation.
