- Title
Rationality and phonics: a comment on Wyse and Styles (2007).
- Authors
Brooks, Greg
- Abstract
The article comments on D. Wyse and M. Styles' article about the "Rose Report." The "Rose Report" is about the use of phonics in teaching reading. Although the author agreed to some of Wyse and Styles' arguments, he declares that they misrepresented Joyce Morris' position on phonics, misspelt "phonogram," provided misleading definition of analytic phonics and presented irrelevant citation. Due to this, the author provided definition of synthetic, analytic and systematic phonics.
