- Abstract
The aim of the research was to determine whether the Socioemotional Competencies (SEC) of teachers are strengthened throughout their professional experience, comparing the SEC of teachers in training in the bachelor's degree in education with experienced teachers in education leading a classroom group. Non-experimental descriptive quantitative research was conducted, in which a sample of 22 teachers in the final stage of pedagogical training in the bachelor's degree in teaching and Learning for Tele Secondary Education and 36 experienced teachers in the classroom without initial teacher training, currently working within the Mexican educational system, participated. Both groups were administered the Emotional Quotient Inventory test, resulting in a difference in the overall emotional quotient score that demonstrates that experienced teachers present more developed SEC. This difference is significant, despite not having had formal teacher training.
