This article offers information on the proposal of novelist and short story writer Nathaniel Hawthorne to revolutionize the system of juvenile literature in the U.S. The experiences of Hawthorne with juvenile literature showed professional possibilities and he wrote for the juvenile audience during his literary career. Hawthorne made a hit in the juvenile market with literature signifying the complete new system in the genre, but his writing for children happen in evolving cultural contexts.
