The article reports on a newly discovered transcript of the Old English anonymous literary work "Promissio Regis," printed within the BL Cotton Tiberius B. manuscript of an "Anglo-Saxon Chronicle," inscribed by the 16th-century figure John Joscelyn. A transcription of the "Promissio regis" is given in full, along with extensive commentary on its features and distinctions.
