- Abstract
Stunting is one of the health development problems in Indonesia. The Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (2021) noted that the prevalence of stunting in Nganjuk reached 25.3%. Handling stunting must involve a shared commitment and cross-sectoral roles, namely collaboration between the government, social institutions, academia, and the mass media. This study aims to describe the role of cross-sectoral social in accelerating stunting reduction in Nganjuk. This research uses the collaborative governance concept of Ansell & Gash as an analytical scalpel. This study uses a qualitative approach by taking actors across sectors. The data was collected using interview techniques through a focus group discussion model for village officials, midwives and family planning extension workers. This study reveals that the social role between actors in the context of collaborative governance is quite effective in accelerating stunting reduction in Nganjuk. The village government plays a role in formulating budgeting policies through the allocation of village funds to support the program. Midwives and family planning extension workers work together to formulate effective programs to be delivered at village development planning meetings. Assistance to stunting families and at risk of stunting continues to be carried out through the active participation of midwives and the Family Assistance Team. The obstacle experienced by actors in cross-sectoral synergies in accelerating the reduction of stunting is the construction of knowledge and behavior of parents about parenting patterns that are still weak. Therefore, in strengthening the implementation of collaborative governance in accelerating stunting reduction, it is necessary to have a common perception and strong shared motivation among the social actors involved. Furthermore, capacity for joint action, where each actor is involved in cooperative activities to increase the capacity of themselves and others to achieve common goals.
