"This Guitar Has Seconds to Live": Guitar Drag's Archaeology of Indeterminacy and Violence.
- Authors
Kase, Carlos
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the video installation "Guitar Drag". It offers the archaeology of the video through inquiry on its associations, referents and cultural precedents. It discusses the similarities of the destructive and indeterminate artistic strategies in the video among other works, performances, and historic events and in philosophy. It suggests that "Guitar Drag" is an investigative work on aesthetic resonances between act of brute on inanimate object and cultures that underlies it.
