- Title
Vertebrate Hedgehog signalling modulated by induction of a Hedgehog-binding protein.
- Authors
Chuang, Pao-Tien; McMahon, Andrew P.
- Abstract
Identifies a novel component in the vertebrate signalling pathway, named Hip for Hedgehog-interacting protein because of its ability to bind Hedgehog proteins. Significance to the development of diverse tissues during embryogenesis; Activation of signalling; Membrane glycoprotein that is encoded by Hip and that binds to all three mammalian Hedgehog proteins; Location of Hip-expressing cells; Induction of Hip expression by ectopic Hedgehog signalling.
