- Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate recovery of erectile function for penile rehabilitation following unilateral nerve sparing radical prostatectomy. Material and Methods: A total of 40 patients was recruited. The 40 patients were randomized to take Tadarafil on a regular basis (Rehabilitation group) or on demand (on demand group). Erection function questionnaires were used EPIC (Expanded Prostate Cancer Index Composite) and SHIM (Sexual Health Inventory for Men). Tadarafil was taken two times weekly. Results: Preoperative SHIM, EPIC sexual function (SF) and sexual bother (SB)score of the both groups were not statistically significant. Erectile function recovery cases were 15 cases (78%) in the Rehabilitation group and 10 cases (53%) in on demand group (p = 0.08). SB score at postoperative 6 months of the Rehabilitation group was significantly higher than that of the on demand group (p = 0.048). Conclusion: Penile rehabilitation shows effect for recovery of erectile function following unilateral nerve sparing radical prostatectomy.
