- Abstract
The article "Special Education in Hesse" deals with the topic of inclusion and participation. Two concepts are presented: the relationship-oriented inclusive classroom mentoring (biKK) in Kassel and the use of an avatar to involve a student with a long-term illness in the lessons at the Luise-Kiesselbach-Schulen in Munich. The biKK concept enables the participation of children and adolescents with challenging behavior and supports teachers in the development of sustainable skills. The avatar allows the student Lilly to actively participate in the lessons. In addition, information is provided about an online platform for inclusive education and a planned conference on the topic of emotional and social development.
