- Abstract
This study examines the conflict in southern Kaduna through the lens of the Abraham and Lot narrative. Southern Kaduna is the epicentre of the conflict in Kaduna. Lives have been lost and property destroyed. There is the lack of development that has heralded southern Kaduna due to the escalating crisis in the region. Existing literature has approached the southern Kaduna crisis from psychological, political, and cultural perspectives. Literature on the Old Testament’s response to the problem is scanty. In the Old Testament, Abraham used a model to settle a conflict between himself and Lot, which, if it had not been properly handled, would have escalated. Abraham’s approach was prompt, proactive, and positive. This study utilised the phenomenological method of qualitative research. Phenomenology research examines life experiences (i.e., the lived experience) in an effort to understand and give them meaning. This research discovered that the main cause of the conflict in southern Kaduna is an attempt by one group to dominate or resist the other. Recommendations were discussed.
