- Abstract
The article presents a study of the concentration of mercury in the river and sea waters and marine organisms at Angke Estuary in Jakarta Bay, Indonesia. The analysis of mercury contents in the water and marine organisms are found to be higher than the standard maximum concentration of mercury in fisheries set by the Indonesian government. It suggests that the estuary has been contaminated by mercury and should not be used as marine culture area.
