- Abstract
The research deals with the exposure of Iraqi women to the topics of magic and sorcery in Egyptian drama and its reflection on their intellectual orientations. Research to descriptive research using the field survey method, by surveying a sample of women in the city of Baghdad, and the research reached many results and conclusions, the most prominent of which are: It was found that the majority of the sample is exposed to the themes of the drama of magic and sorcery and that housewives are the most vulnerable group to this type of drama, as their percentage exceeds 50%, and in age groups under the age of thirty. According to the opinion of the majority of the sample's vocabulary, the study concluded that the majority of those who resort to using magic are either motivated by revenge and to bring harm to others, or out of hatred and jealousy, as well as other factors, but they are less motivated. Negative approach toward addressing these issues without developing effective solutions to them. The researchers presented several proposals and recommendations to the media and to the concerned parties, most notably: The need to warn Iraqi families against watching soap operas and movies that broadcast witchcraft and sorcery because of their danger to society, with the need to pay attention to the education of women. The Iraqi media adopted the task of confronting this type of series and everything related to witchcraft and witchcraft, which is broadcast on Arab satellite channels, and warning Iraqi women of its danger, by conducting media campaigns and awareness programs and hosting experts and specialists in the social, psychological, health, security and legal fields.
