- Abstract
The article presents a study on the concentrations of phosphorus, loads, and sources within the Illinois River drainage area in Northwest Arkansas. The author examines the effect of reduced effluent phosphorus concentrations and other watershed changes on water column phosphorus concentrations and loads within the Illinois River. He states that the study presents annual phosphorus loads from 1997-2008, which assesses the relative contribution of effluent phosphorus sources to annual reverine phosphorus transport. The study also evaluates the changes in monthly phosphorus loads over the last decade.
