- Abstract
This research work aims to develop a statistical model to analyze the cutting force in CNC end milling of Al7068. The geometrical parameters of tool such as radial rake angle, helix angle and machining parameters such as cutting speed, cutting feed and axial depth of cut are considered for the analysis. The second order mathematical model was developed to predict the cutting force of CNC end milling process and ANOVA technique was used to verify the model adecuacy. Further investigations on the direct and interactive effect of the process parameter on cutting force were carried out to ensure the stability of end milling process. The significant parameters influencing the cutting force are identified and experiments are designed using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The optimization of parameters is carried out using a genetic algorithm.
