The article analyzes Russian interventionism in the post-Soviet space, highlighting its strategic importance and historical territorial expansion. It mentions the collaboration of the USSR in the defeat of Nazi Germany and the lack of attention and funding in Spain towards the study of Eastern Europe and Russia. It also mentions Russian aggression towards Ukraine and its use of instruments such as disinformation and control of the media. The strategic importance of Ukraine for Russia and its role in the historical and political imagination of the Kremlin are emphasized. The article analyzes Russia's neo-imperial drive, led by Putin, which seeks to undermine the construction of nation-states in its neighboring borders. The conflicts in the post-Soviet space and Russia's military intervention in Georgia and Ukraine are mentioned. The use of hybrid threats and the exploitation of the "gray zone" by the Kremlin are highlighted. The text analyzes the crisis of multilateralism and its effects on different institutional and normative areas. The risks of fragmentation of the international order into regional systems are mentioned, with the main victims being the security framework, the increase in illiberal regimes, and the non-compliance with international law. The article mentions Russia's aggression towards Ukraine and analyzes Russia's foreign policy in its post-Soviet neighborhood, as well as the consequences for regional security and the international community. The article addresses the Transnistria conflict in the Republic of Moldova, analyzing its origins, evolution, and consequences, as well as attempts at political and diplomatic resolution. The issue of historical memory is also examined as one of the main identity debates between Russia and Ukraine.
