- Abstract
The article discusses the history of the organization Sowing Seeds of Hope (SSH), which worked with the Alabama Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (Alabama CBF) in anti-poverty work in Perry County, Alabama beginning in 1999. The effort was led by historian Wayne Flint and began by finding black and white civic leaders to support it. It is said that the successful relationship between churches and communities through SSH led to the organization Together for Hope of the U.S. denomination Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
