- Abstract
This letter to the editor published in the journal Neurological Sciences discusses the rare coexistence of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and myasthenia gravis (MG). The authors present five cases of ALS and MG together and suggest that there may be similar immunological mechanisms at play. They propose that immunomodulatory therapy could potentially have a protective effect in the early stages of ALS. The letter provides detailed case reports of each patient, including symptoms, diagnostic criteria, and treatment outcomes. Further research is needed to better understand the relationship between these two conditions and the autoimmune mechanisms involved.
