- Abstract
The article presents a case study of an 8-year-old girl diagnosed with the large craniectomy defect comprising of brain abscess in left temporo-parietal region, who upon follow-up was detected with the spontaneous bone formation phenomenon. Topics discussed include details regarding the patient's diagnosis and treatment through decompressive craniectomy, studies performed on guinea pigs regarding to the phenomenon and a similar case of a 12-year-old girl in India.
