- Abstract
The author discusses the U.S. Affordable Care Act (ACA) to provide financial protection for people with mental disorders. He mentions the key features of ACA as expansion of insurance coverage through federally subsidized health insurance exchanges and Medicaid for low income people with mental illness. He discusses the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in National Federation of Independent Business v. Sebelius, wherein the power of state to enact provisions of ACA's Medicaid expansion was upheld.
