- Abstract
The article describes the case of disseminated tuberculosis in a juvenile sooty mangabey, Cercocebus atys, imported from South Africa to Thailand, which was caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis Spoligotype International Type (SIT) 52. The disease was confirmed after subjecting the animal to histopathologic and microbiological analysis, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and sequencing of 16S rRNA gene. The granulomas found in the mangabey was compared to tuberculosis lesions in other animals.
