- Abstract
The article focuses on the issues surrounding the treatment effectivness of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC). Topics dicussed include use of graft-versus-host disease model for demonstrating the role of MSCs in undergoing perforindependent apoptosis by recipient cytotoxic cells, and its benefit for immunosuppression; immunosuppressive activity of MSCs; and role of apoptosis in MSCs in mediating immunomodulation.
