- Abstract
The objective of this study was to identify and analyze articles on preventing breastfeeding situations (AM) published in the period from 2000 to 2012. This literature review study conducted in the databases LILACS, SCIELO and Google Scholar BDENF. We used the descriptors: breastfeeding human milk and breastfeeding, infections and diseases, maternal infection, breastfeeding and drugs. The sample consisted of ten (10) articles. The analysis of the work showed no consensus among authors on maternal diseases preventing permanent or on a temporary basis for the AM. The situations of consensus as preventing outright were to soropositive mothers for HIV and human Lymphotropic Virus 1 (HTLVI) and II (HTLVII). There is disagreement among the authors to pathologies such as: tuberculosis, chickenpox, Cytomegalovirus (CMV), breast abscess, herpes simplex and leprosy. For mothers users of illicit drugs all authors who mentioned the problem contraindicate definitely BF.
