- Abstract
The article discusses open-design reflectors for telescopes. Topics discussed include the advantages of open-design reflectors such as decreased weight and cool-down time, and a brief history of the design from a 1932 modified Cassegrain design to the 1947 Dall-Kirkham reflector that was emulated to the present.
