- Abstract
This research is focused on the study of the depression and anxiety suffered by hearing impaired people and its goal is to analyze critically the knowledge gained on previous works that had been published from 1993 to 2007. This is a theoretical descriptive documentary research that has been divided in three main topics: hearing impairment and anxiety disorders, hearing impairment and depression disorders, and hearing impairment and both depression and anxiety disorders. This paper concludes that hearing impaired people show higher emotional and behavioural symptoms, their levels of life quality are lower and they are more vulnerable to develop anxiety and depression disorders in comparison with people who are able to listen well.
