- Abstract
Calciphylaxis, also known as calcific uremic arteriolopathy, is a serious condition characterized by calcification of small- and medium-sized arteries with resulting tissue ischemia and infarction leading to chronic painful wounds. This rare and often fatal condition is diagnosed almost exclusively in patients with endstage renal disease; one-year mortality rates exceed 50%. Penile calciphylaxis is uncommon, with fewer than 60 previously reported cases. We present two cases of penile calciphylaxis.
