- Abstract
The article examines the issue of courtliness conveyed through the terms corteis and corteisie based on the book "History of William Marshal," edited by A. J. Holden. It explores the traditional usage of the terms corteis and corteisie where courtliness can be linked to the method of speaking, eloquence, and appropriate or suitable words to a certain way of acting.
