- Abstract
The main aim of this study is to determine the relationship between job insecurity perception and job productivity levels of employees in hospitality establishments and to examine the existence of the relation from the perspectives of seasonal and nonseasonal employees comparatively. While this is done, the fact that seasonal establishment employees know that the work will end at the end of the season is not included in the perception of "job insecurity", and the perception of job insecurity is limited only to the perception in the season. In addition, it was investigated in which employee group the perception of job insecurity and job productivity is higher. In the research, a questionnaire was applied to face-to-face interviews with the hospitality employees in Istanbul and Marmaris destinations. The findings point to the following results. The overall level of job insecurity perception of non-seasonal employees is lower than seasonal employees. The overall level of job productivity is higher for non-seasonal employees. In both groups, job insecurity has a negative effect on job productivity. In both groups, the relationship between job insecurity and job productivity is the same in terms of degree. In the light of the findings obtained in the study, various suggestions were presented to the hospitality enterprise managers.
