- Abstract
The article highlights a study on the relationship between pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A), glycemic control and other metabolic and hemostatic parameters, inflammatory cytokines and ankle-brachial pressure index (ABI) in type 2 diabetic patients. It was shown that PAPP-A levels were significantly lower in diabetic patients. A significant correlation was found between PAPP-A and A1C but there was no correlation observed between PAPP-A levels and interleukin (IL)-6 or tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α.
