- Title
Numerical classification and ordination methods in biogeography.
- Authors
Kent, Martin
- Abstract
The article discusses the numerical classification or cluster analysis and the methods of ordination in biogeography. It offers the changing patterns and problems in the application of numerical classification and ordination and gradient analysis methods. The spatial autocorrelation, spatial dependence and the application of ordination techniques in biogeography and ecology are discussed. The two components of the spatial structure and application in plant and animal communities shown by P. Legendre are presented. It also offers new developments in numerical classification and ordination methods .
